Great experience purchasing a couple of trees for our home in Scottsdale. Mandy was so knowledgeable and offered suggestions for what would work best  in the spots in our yard. She showed photos and narrowed down the choices  before we walked into the nursery. This was especially helpful with my elderly mother who has a hard time walking.

We were provided with all the details to make the planting a success and great follow through with Alexis on any questions we may have both before and after the planting.

On the day of planting the crew actually arrived much earlier – they called first to let us know.

Brett, Miquel and Carlos were great to work with. They treated our property and the new trees respectfully. Once planted they cleaned up the landscape as if no amount of digging had been done!

Our sprinkler company happened to arrive at the end of the planting and both crews worked together to accomplish their individual tasks.

Ok I had to upgrade to a 5 bc these guys are REALLY knocking my socks off.

I went to pick out a Pygmy palm I had specifically selected and sadly it had gotten lost. But after doing a pretty thorough search the manager Troy helped me pick out a really good comparable one and comped me some moon juice to mitigate my sadness over not getting to take the original Carmelita home. (Yes everyone should name their plants like I do they are living beings that deserve to be treated as such.)

Anyway I called back today asking for Troy bc I was a little nervous about the (now I know it’s) shock a couple of my new plant family members were experiencing.
Eric was fantastic and affable and made me feel empowered with the information he shared

Update to update. Clearly I’m moving up the food chain and learning a lot about the interesting ecosystem that is Moon Valley. To clarify, there are a number of people there who really care about plants and customer satisfaction and success.

I’m now working with Brad who is a great communicator and naturally passionate about plants. He is clearly a born teacher and leader.

Too bad I didn’t encounter someone like him when I had my first Moon Valley experience in Surprise!

Because I initially enlisted some non nursery help with my plants there have been some mishaps. Moon Valley has been generous with their support and things are close to being “dialed in.”

Man, so glad we went here and asked for help! Being from Eastern Oregon, we just didn’t know how to care for desert plants and bought a house with beautiful landscaping. As summer started everything looked like it was dying and everyone I asked and everything I googled said we were watering too much. Turned off water and they were dying faster!
We took pics into Moon Valley and immediately the gentlemen knew the plants all needed way more water! After 2 days of watering and putting moon juice on like they advised… our plants are all coming back to life!

MVN has the best quality and selection of large shrubs and trees coupled with the best customer service you can find anywhere in the Phoenix area. Although we had some major sticker shock the first time we stopped in, we realized you definitely get what you pay for. Matt was AWESOME and was super helpful and patient while we spent several hours wandering the expansive nursery. He made sure we got the best value for our money and made excellent recommendations for our yard based on our neighborhood and style of home. When we came back a few days later after placing our order to discuss some concerns we had with one of the species, he was supportive and let us modify our order and made sure to give us an awesome deal on our more expensive replacement.

We ended up purchasing over $7k worth of trees and I was super nervous about dropping that kind of cash based on our experience with citrus in the past, but our yard now looks beautiful with the addition of a HUGE blood orange, large ponderosa lemon and oro blanco grapefruit, four large sour orange shrubs placed as hedges, and a huge Texas Fan ash. The installation crew was timely, professional, and worked neatly and quickly.

We HIGHLY recommend Matt at MVN and will definitely be back for more beautiful trees in the near future. It may be pricey, but the quality and professionalism of the team at Moon Valley are 100% worth it. We visited the Surprise location twice. First time for information regarding what might work for us seasonal residents. Luke was very helpful and answered all of our questions and provided additional information that was useful in helping us make a decision. The second time we went to buy. Luke helped up select the trees and other items that would look good in our yard. Time passed and the delivery guys showed up, as advertised, and did a great job of getting our delivery off the truck and into the ground. My wife and I have used Moon Valley at two different locations since 1992 and always had good service and products. This time was no exception when I went back and spoke to Monti about dying trumpet vines. They were supposed to be green year-round but this variety was actually going dormant. Monti replaced the two vines with honeysuckle which is doing fantastic at what we wanted the plants to do by blocking views of neighbors. We had the staff here provide us with world class planning and customer service in developing a landscape plan and then following up with us after the installation to ensure we were pleased. I truly cannot say enough positive about Moon Valley Nursery. My favorite location to buy all of my landscape needs is the nursery on 7th Street. Our absolute “go to” location for information on landscaping in the valley. We make an annual visit – and always check in w/Manny. He is an expert on the plants and the climate of the valley and is generous in sharing his knowledge. It feels “like family” when we visit with him each year. He has guided us on tree selection that has enhance our front yard.
